WINNERS: Skipton Bid Awards - Leisure and Tourism Award 🏆🍾

October 2025 was our busiest month on record. We met a lot of people this month and had sold out tours across Otley, Skipton and Leeds almost every weekend! We welcomed a lot of private tours throughout the month too, including cubs groups, women’s institutes, corporate work events and birthday parties! It was a great period of festivity and embracing the other side… 

Putting the spooky season aside however (which we rarely ever do…) this month was also the start of awards season! 

And we were absolutely thrilled to cop the ‘Leisure and Tourism’ award at the Skipton Bid Business Awards! 

We were up against two huge, fabulous Skipton businesses: Skipton Hotel and Skipton Boat Tours. We’ve received a lot of support from both these businesses in the past year as they take in our fliers and spread the word about the Skipton Ghost Tour. It's an absolute pleasure to work in a town where tourism is embraced and celebrated how it is in Skipton and the evening provided a lovely way to celebrate each other’s hard work. 

We were also chuffed to bits that the awards ceremony took place in Skipton Town Hall, so we could embrace all the history at the Craven Museum before we went in for our tea! 🤩

We were given a lovely trophy which is now sitting proudly on the Butcher’s shelf in her grimy store cupboard, although it’s not quite as clean anymore as in these photos…

And if that wasn’t exciting enough, we were also lucky enough to win another award this month as well! We made our way down to Daventry for the Best Businesswomen Awards to pick up a lovely silver prize for the ‘Best Newcomer’ award. 🥈

AND (we don’t know who we’ve haunted to get all this good karma) we’ve just found out we are finalists for the Yorkshire Post Tourism awards for the “small tourists attraction of the year award (under 75k guests)” as well as being nominated for the Otley Bid Business Awards for the “best new business” award.
